Liz discovered fluid art in 2018, but has been making art in one form or another since high school. Raised in the high country of Victoria near Mt Buller, she has been based in the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula of Victoria, Australia since 2015, which quickly became a major influence on her artwork.

Liz enjoys looking at things from different perspectives that other people may not normally notice, which is encompassed in each of her unique wave paintings, as she tries to capture the essence of personally being out in the surf, whether that be serene and calm or terrified  the next big wave will crash on your head.

Mostly self-taught, Liz enjoys experimenting with many mediums, and is driven by the challenge of perfecting a new technique or achieving a particular concept. Sometimes she sees something and it occupies her mind until she is able to get it out into the world somehow, which might include putting paint to canvas or graphite to paper.

With a career in science, Liz is constantly thinking of ideas. Sometimes getting an idea from concept to canvas takes many months of sleepless nights, musing through the process before even touching pigments. She draws inspiration from her surroundings, be that the nearby Surf Coast beaches where she walks and swims in the summer, or something as simple as a colour combination on social media. She is an experienced night and star photographer and has managed to catch the natural beauty of the Aurora Australis on numerous occasions.
